While Daddy-to-be is not a very good secret keeper, we decided to wait to tell our family the news until Christmas, though by then a small handful of people knew already- even random customers at Bryan’s shop! Another friend at work had bought me this Christmas ornament that went on the top of our tree, without the knowledge of anyone who stopped by (pictured above).

One of Bryan’s sisters was in town with her two children, so on Sunday night we had a small gift opening with his family before they left to go back home to Seattle. Bryan’s idea was to put a naked baby in a box for his mom to open in front of the family. I added a few embellishments from the baby shower aisle at the local party store (with the help of our baby niece Hannah, who is such a good secret keeperJ), such as miniature baby bottles, glitter and other party favors. The box rattled and shook, and they had no idea what was in store! When Bryan’s mom opened the box, her eyes filled up with tears, as did mine. She asked, “Does this mean what I think it means?” Yep!! The family were all so surprised and excited to hear our news!
